“We visited this restaurant twice, one week apart, and had noticeably different experiences on each occasion. The menu does not include photos or detailed descriptions of the dishes, which led to some uncertainty during our second visit. During our first visit, we ordered grilled whitefish (sig), served as a whole fish. The dish we received was well-prepared and enjoyable, which encouraged us to return. On our second visit, we ordered tabbouleh and whitefish again. When the waiter asked whether we preferred the fish with breadcrumbs or without, we requested the “classic” version, expecting a dish similar to what we had previously been served. The tabbouleh arrived after around 20 minutes. It was a quinoa-based dish with dried cornelian cherries. While we understand there may be variations in recipes, it differed significantly from what is typically expected from tabbouleh. The dish was kindly removed from the bill. The fish was then served as a small portion coated in breadcrumbs, which differed in appearance from our first visit. We raised this with the staff, who were polite and offered an apology. After some time, the dish was served again without breadcrumbs, and we were informed that this was the correct version of the order. At that point, we had some difficulty understanding the discrepancy between the two visits, as the presentation of the dish appeared quite different from what we had previously received. We were later directed to the QR-code menu, where photos of the dishes are available. The image there matched what we were served during the second visit. This naturally raised a question for us regarding the difference between the dish served on our first visit and the version shown in the online menu. During the conversation, there was some disagreement between staff members regarding the situation. In our view, this type of discussion is best handled with the involvement of a manager, in order to ensure clarity and avoid any misunderstanding in the dining area. Overall, we believe this situation highlights an opportunity for improvement in menu presentation. Including photos and/or more detailed descriptions in the printed menu would likely help guests better understand what to expect and avoid confusion in similar cases. We appreciate the efforts of the staff during a busy service and hope this feedback is helpful for improving communication and consistency going forward.”
