“On our way from Ohanavan after visiting the Hovhannavank Monastery to Echmiadzin near Vagharshapat, we stopped by near Ashatarak to visit a local family house known for wine, pickling and jam making and offering local Armenian dishes for lunch. The place is a small two stories family house with a cozy garden in the backyard. We started with wine tasting but since I don't drink wine, I settled with cheese and lavash. Then we went to the dining room to have lunch, where we already made our choice earlier from the 3 available options, vegetarian, Armenian Tolma, and Trout. All in very reasonable prices. And as usual the tables were set with bread, cheese, salads, fruits and drinks. I chose the trout option and it was served with potatoes. A great choice and the atmosphere as well as the food were just very enjoyable. At the end we enjoyed our final choice, tea or coffee, and I always pick the Armenian tasty coffee. A great experience recommended for all travelers passing by.”
