Pitching a tent beside Lake Kari means falling asleep at 3,200 m with the Aragats peaks silhouetted against one of the clearest night skies in Armenia — little light pollution reaches this altitude. An overnight stay costs from 5,000 AMD and is best done June through September, when temperatures are tolerable after dark. Pack warm regardless of the season; nights are cold even in midsummer.
