Ararat
Dvin was once a capital of medieval Armenia, and though little remains above ground beyond earthen mounds and scattered foundations, a 90-minute walk through the site gives a sense of the scale of a city that thrived here for centuries. Free to visit and best done April through October, it's a low-key stop for travelers interested in Armenia's less-visited archaeological history.
