Vayots Dzor
This 4-hour hike near Artavan village leads to Lake Al, a high mountain lake set in open alpine terrain, with the walk often ending in a lakeside picnic. Free to hike and only feasible June through October, it's a substantial trek rewarded with one of the region's more remote natural settings.
