Aragatsotn
This 4-hour hike follows the Kasagh river gorge between two of Armenia's finest medieval monasteries, Saghmosavank and Hovhannavank, both perched dramatically on the canyon rim. The trail drops into the gorge and follows the river before climbing back out at the second monastery, making it easy to combine sightseeing with a proper walk. Free and best done April to October, it's a good half-day option for travelers who want monasteries and nature in a single outing.
