Shirak
Kumayri is Gyumri's preserved old town, a dense network of 19th-century black-tuff buildings that survived the 1988 earthquake largely intact. A free 2-hour walk through its streets is available year-round and gives the clearest sense of Gyumri's distinct architectural character outside of a museum.
