Ararat
The view of Mount Ararat from Khor Virap monastery, with the ancient walls in the foreground and the mountain rising behind, is one of the most photographed scenes in Armenia, and sunrise is when the light does it the most justice. A 1-hour visit is free and available year-round, though clear autumn and winter mornings often give the sharpest views of the mountain.
