Vishap dragon-stone hike (Lake Kari)

Aragatsotn

About

Scattered across the slopes near Lake Kari are vishapakar, or 'dragon stones' — prehistoric standing stones carved with fish and animal motifs whose exact age and purpose are still debated by archaeologists. The 2.5-hour walk to see them is gentle and gives context to the high-alpine landscape around Aragats, and it's easy to combine with the Lake Kari loop on the same outing. Free and best visited June to September.
